K. Austin Davis earned his Bachelors of Science in 2016 and Master's of Science in 2018 from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. Austin completed his MS thesis project on the renin angiotensin system in a fish model of hemorrhage, where he learned foundational research skills. He joined Dr. Caroline Rickards’ Cerebral and Cardiovascular Physiology Laboratory in 2020, where he now studies hemorrhage in humans. Austin is currently a 5th year PhD student, with the of goal of completing his dissertation in spring of 2025. In addition to his research, Austin previously served as Vice President for the PHANatics student organization in the Department of Physiology and Anatomy, and a Student Ambassador in which he participated in recruiting events for the School of Biomedical Sciences at UNTHSC. Outside of the lab, Austin enjoys playing golf and staying active by training jiujitsu and boxing.
